Forgive me, I'm just a random passer-by, and this intrigued me a great deal. This is a very well-done piece of work; the quality is absolutely superb. I was wondering, however, if you could tell me a bit more about the process, the materials used [not just the fabrics, but the needles too, and how you went about sewing], and any advice you might give to beginners. I don't mean to sound pesky, but the reason I ask if so that I may be able to make a plushie for my boyfriend, since it seems like plushies make great gifts, and I want to make something unique for him.

Sorry to bother...it just really caught my eye.

There's not much to say about the fabrics - i use what's on sale and fits colour wise, or works with what i'm tring to do. Neither am i too scientific about which needles i used. i mostly used whatever sowing needle i could find - with ONE exception. carpet needle. the curved needle. excellent för har to reach places. i'm also prone to using extra strong thread. i believe this one is a mix between fishing line, and... some extra thick thread that i couldn't find a translation for (björntråd) in swedish.... it's made for like... sowing tents and stuff, or to toughen parts of clothing that will be subject to a lot of wear and tear. Just get something tough, since this is hand sown.

[link] look at this page. i use the second type in this list (efterstygn) of stitching for my basic sowing. this is how most seams look. the lower option in the picture going with it (täta efterstygn). Further down the list is "Gles langettsöm". i use this to toughen it where the margins turned out a little thin, or where some touchening is required because i would have to pull that piece a lot later.

sorry about this being in swedish, i just have no idea what a lot of these things are called in english :/

another piece of advice is getting a very basic book on sewing plush toys. It gives you all the basic pieces of patterns that you could need, and are very easy to learn from. I usually draw brand new patterns on paper i pulled out of my printer with the basics in mind. I also have a tendency to stare at toys in toy shops, if there's a specific design about it that i like. The plus about hand sewing is that you don't have to be exact with your original pattern, since you can make up for some of it being giving it less margins in some areas than others, thereby, for example, making a paw curve more than you originally drew, or making a tail smaller by giving it more margins.

the only problem is, that my patterns usually require modification in retrospect, which makes most pieces of pattern that i make absolutely useless to everyone else.

if you want to ask more, then do :3

dear. god. this is amazing. I wish I knew how to do stuff like this. Just out of curiousity, how much did this commission cost?

25-60 usd. but i'm currently not taking commissions, since i already have alike... a line of people in queue and i've been having problems and... stuff which you don't need to be notified of. yeah.
